connecting

-
Sometimes i wonder why, at this time of my life, this slave has decided to blog. Something, until now i have had no desire to do. Then i think of how much my life has changed and, because of those changes, i have developed a need to connect, to communicate in some fashion with others. Those other persons who might understand how i have decided to live the rest of my life. Those other women who live as and call themselves slaves. Believe me, a few years ago i would never have conceived of giving up my "freedom" to be a slave to anyone for any reason. To give myself over to the will of another was unthinkable. It wasn't happening. Nope, not interested.

Up until a couple of years ago my life was fairly predictable. i was married in my twenties, had two children, back to school in my thirties, then a career that gave me satisfaction. With grown children, my husband and i had looked forward to retirement. Three years ago this month he died, and the course of my life changed.

Getting back to the original purpose of this entry, that is my interest in blogs and blogging. In my quest to find out as much as i could about "different loving", along with other sources of information, i started reading personal accounts of Master/slave relationships. I had to know if it could work, and if it could, how?

Without a doubt, i have read some amazing blogs written by diverse bloggers with compelling life stories to tell. What ties them all together, however, is their commitment to those they love. Such devotion to another is rare even in the best of circumstances, and often the challenges to that devotion could be daunting to those less determined. I have found that we slaves, above all else, are determined. We are determined to make each of our unique slave positions as self fulfilling and as satisfying to our Masters as possible.

Being a slave, however, is a lonely proposition. i think that's where blogging comes in, the connecting, the communicating. For me at least, i need to connect with others with similar ideas and behaviors. i need to know that there are others who are out there living life on their terms and conditions. . . .living and loving being slaves.
